Our overall impression of Tony Meier is that he is a very competent, professional real estate agent.  There are several things which lead us to that conclusion.

Promptness.  Tony was extremely prompt.  If he said he would be at your at home at “x” time you could almost set your watch to that time.

Helpful Advice.  Tony’s advice about installing vinyl plank flooring, what items to leave and what items to store, etc. all contributed to the successful sale of our home.

Knows Real Estate.  Throughout the listing and sales process Tony displayed an impressive knowledge of the real estate market and what makes a home saleable.  For example, I believe having the septic inspected and pumped as well as  having the house pre-inspected were significant factors in having such a quick sale.  Tony was the only agent we spoke with who recommended that this be done.  In fact, within the last two weeks, a friend’s son had a sale fail because the septic needed repairs.  Tony, knowing the inspection and repairs were necessary, would have had this done before the house went on the market.

Extremely good Follow-up and Availability.  From day one, if there were any questions or “to dos” from the previous conversation, Tony was on top of them and provided an answer quickly.  We also learned that we could call Tony at any time and he would either answer himself or call us back in a matter of minutes.  I find this a rarity in today’s business world.

Friendly and Positive. During the entire time from our first meeting through the final sale of our home, Tony was always courteous, friendly and positive.  A pleasure to do business with!

Having lived in English Hill since 1986, I was quite familiar with the Tony Meier name and reputation of being the ‘expert’ regarding home sales and purchases within the community.  When we were ready to relocate we quickly concluded we wanted to talk with Tony first.  After visiting with him in our home on the same day we called we knew without question we wanted Tony Meier to handle our move, and we were not disappointed in any way.  I recall saying that evening that he was quite the salesperson … to which he responded that he really did not think of himself as a ‘salesperson’ … but rather a facilitator.  I thought, “Yeah, right, but you are a salesperson”.  In retrospect, I agree with him … he FACILITATED every aspect of our sale, and purchase.  I did not feel, even one time, that I was being ‘sold’ on any question or decision on which we consulted him, and we used his knowledge of how various decisions would impact our sale on a number of issues.

I’m not sure when, if ever, Tony sleeps, … he responded to every text, email or phone call within minutes, day or night, weekday or weekend and Carol and I used each of those methods on numerous occasions.  Following the sale of our home, on which we had a an agreement for a full price offer within five days, Tony worked with us on the purchase of our new home with the same enthusiasm he showed for the sale.

An extremely important aspect of the sale/purchase is all the ‘paperwork’ (in our case virtually all handled electronically).  Tony was there every step with explanations when needed.  The agreement and the closing is rather complex, but in our deals was handled without issue … do in large measure to Tony and his team.

My wife and I had been frequenting open houses and when we found something we wanted to put an offer on we needed to find a realtor fast. Through a recommendation from a friend we found Tony and explained our situation. Him and his team were quick to jump on the ball by scheduling a private showing, providing advice on the market value, getting us a copy of the inspection, and quickly assisting us with getting a strong offer put together.

We first met with Tony in the fall of 2017.  He was referred to us by a coworker of my wife. He was one of three agents that we contacted prior to listing our house.  Our neighborhood in Kirkland has had a number of homes sold and tore down and replaced with million plus dollar homes and we received a postcards weekly offering quick cash to do the same so we looked into that possibility as well.

When Tony came to our house we told him our plan was to list our home in the fall of 2018 because we were having a house built that would not be done until then, as we did with the other agents we contacted but Tony explained the benefit of selling the house as is or making cosmetic improvement or making significant upgrades to our 55 year old house and finally how to maximize our sale by doing the upgrades and listing our house in the early spring.

My wife and I talked it over and weighed the pros and cons and after the first of the year we met with Tony again and told him we had decided to list our home when we returned from vacation in mid-April.  We also asked him which upgrades would bring us the best return.  He walked through the house and not only made the recommendations but also where we could get products for the best value. He also suggested that we list it before we left on vacation so we could maximize showings.

I did a lot of the work on my own and as I was nearing the deadline Tony would stop by not only to check on my progress but when needed he roll up his sleeves and give me a hand.

First Home on English Hill in Redmond with a lot size of less than 1/3 of an acre to Break $1,000,000

Staging: Tony gave us clear pointers on how to get the house ready for the sale, and which staging actions had the biggest impact on raising buyers interest. The feedback was helpful and helped us get the house ready well in advance of the first open house and picture day.

Marketing: The pictures were great, and the aerial video really helped get a get overview of the house and its surroundings. The marketing page was well made, informative and showcased the home in a very positive way

Pricing and selling: We followed Tony’s advice, and he knows the market well. In the end we got well over the asking price, even exceeding our expectations. Market is hot, so we got quite a few offers despite house being on the market only relatively short time, again kudos to Tony understanding the market dynamics so well. The viewings and open houses were painless and easy too, and Tony was great in promoting the house to potential sellers and addressing all inquiries they may have had. Closing was easy too, and Tony explained all the needed paperwork and what happens after that. 

Summary: Selling a house is quite a process, especially if you don’t do it frequently. Tony was great in guiding us through the process and explaining the steps. If you’re thinking of selling your home in the English Hill area, Tony Meier is the first person you should meet with. As you then meet with other brokers, you’ll quickly realize that no one is as in-touch with the English Hill real estate market as Tony is. Tony recently guided us through the sale of our home and we couldn’t be more pleased. Tony’s thorough knowledge of the English Hill real estate market helped him to recommend the optimal listing price. Sure, other brokers might have recommended a higher listing price, but Tony priced the house at a fair price that attracted a lot of interest and multiple offers. Ultimately, our house sold for $30K over the listing price and at a time of year when the market was beginning to slow for the summer. We have friends who also sold their English Hill home recently. They decided to go with another broker who recommended a top-dollar listing price. The property had very little action until they lowered the asking price to a level very close to what Tony had recommended, after which the house sold. The point is, no one knows the English Hill market better than Tony and he will get you results that you’ll be pleased with.

In addition, Tony’s help through the entire process was invaluable. He helped us to identify what changes needed to be made to ready the home for sale. He was available to meet with us any time we had questions. He even accompanied my wife to a cabinet store in Tukwila to check out some cabinets and counter tops. His recommendations were invaluable. When we were ready to list, Tony prepared marketing materials (photos, videos, flyers, etc.) that presented the home in its best light. He held a neighborhood open house the first Saturday after the home went on the market. As a result of his efforts, offers began pouring in. Tony kept us informed every step of the way. In less than a week, we were meeting with him to review the multiple offers received. Again, Tony’s knowledge and experience were invaluable in reviewing the offers and selecting the winning bid. Tony’s work didn’t stop after offer acceptance. Instead, he shepherded the sale through closing, keeping us informed at every step.

As stated earlier, we couldn’t be more pleased with the results that Tony achieved. We were moving out of state (in fact, I had already started a new job) so it was important that we complete our sale as quickly as possible. The desire to be near family prompts sale of home in “The Pointe” in Redmond

I have not been involved with a house sale of this type in the past but the processes Tony Meier had in place provided an environment that exceeded my expectations.
At my first meeting with Tony he explained his role in the sale process and the current market condition.  Two items were important to me 1) a quick sale and 2) once a price was given to the public it would not be lowered.  To support these two issues he provided advice on how the house and yard could be presented more attractively to prospective buyers while being realistic about my costs.
We agreed on a listing date and he proceeded to put together a professional quality video of the interior and exterior of the house which I believe had a significant impact on the quick selling of my home.  Through this entire time he kept me fully up to date on his commitments and checked to make sure I was following up on mine.
The house was listed on a Thursday and firm bid was received over the weekend that exceed the listing price.
Papers were signed and the final payoff date was met.  Any activity of this type causes the seller to be a little jumpy but Tony with his communication skills kept the jumps to a minimum.  I selected Tony based my first meeting with him and the recommendation of my neighbor:  Tony sold their house in two days and also exceed the offering price.
