This Weekend on the Eastside: Bellevue Jazz & Blues, Japan Week, and More | October 9th to 11th, 2026

Tony Meier & Team. 37 years. 805 closed sales. $256M+ in closed volume since 2020.

The big one this weekend is the Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series. The Bellevue Downtown Association's annual series fills downtown Bellevue through Sunday, October 11th, 2026: ticketed headliners at Meydenbauer Center Theatre on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ($20, $10 students), free early sets in Lincoln Square on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., club dates at Bake's Place and El Gaucho, and a free student showcase at Meydenbauer on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Saturday also brings the tenth anniversary Japan Week Festival at Bellevue College (10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free), the Redmond Saturday Market, an outdoor movie at Juanita Beach Park, and an Oktoberfest at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville. Across the lake, the Seahawks host the 49ers on Sunday afternoon, the Huskies host Iowa on Friday night, and Rush plays Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday. In Snohomish County, Billy Strings plays two nights in Everett and every pumpkin farm on Marsh Road is open. Here is the full rundown, Eastside first, then Seattle, then Snohomish County. Every date, time, and price below was checked against the organizer's own page on October 9th, 2026. Details can change, so confirm before you go.

Bellevue Jazz & Blues: where to go each day

The free sets are the easy entry point. On Friday, October 9th, Mark Hilliard Wilson plays Lincoln Square South (second floor) and Karin Kajita with Al Shabino play Lincoln Square North (first floor), both 4 to 6 p.m. The ticketed shows at Meydenbauer Center Theatre are short and early (7:30 to 9 p.m.), which leaves time for dinner on 106th or 108th afterward. Sunday's student showcase is free and runs in 45 minute sets from 11 a.m., with Redmond, Interlake, Eastlake, and Bellevue high school combos on the bill.

Japan Week Festival at Bellevue College

This is the festival's tenth year and the Saturday program is the full day: a Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary room with Mario Kart races, a 12:30 p.m. talk by game composer Kazuma Jinnouchi, calligraphy, origami, tea ceremony, taiko, a cosplay contest, and the Omikoshi and Yosakoi parade through campus at 3 p.m. Park in the BC Garage, which is free for the event; the surface lots charge $3.

Woodinville this weekend

Crush is wrapping up, which is why Darby Winery is opening its Woodinville Warehouse on Saturday afternoon for Taste the Cellar (note the Hollywood tasting room is closed that day). A few minutes south in the Hollywood district, Synne Cellars and Watts Brewing turn the lawn at the Hollywood Schoolhouse into an Oktoberfest from 2 p.m. with a stein holding contest and a lederhosen and dirndl contest. Bring a lawn chair; it runs rain or shine.

Two traffic notes. The Huskies kick off Friday at 6 p.m., so Montlake and the 520 approach will be slow from about 4 p.m.; the 2 Line to the 1 Line gets you to the U District station without the bridge. On Sunday the Seahawks kick off at 1:25 p.m. and SoDo will be full from late morning. The Kraken are on the road all weekend (Detroit on Friday, Washington on Sunday), the Sounders are at New England on Saturday, and the Mariners' season is over, so there are no other home games competing for the same crowd. Seattle Restaurant Week starts the following weekend, October 18th.

The Silvertips are on the road both nights (Tri-City on Friday, Spokane on Saturday), which leaves Angel of the Winds to Billy Strings. The arena's Shakedown Street lot is selling a single $150 space that covers both nights, credit card only. Thomas, Stocker, and Swans Trail sit a few minutes apart along Marsh Road and the river, with Craven and Bob's a short drive away, so it is easy to pair a farm with lunch on 1st Street in Snohomish. Weekend admission at Swans Trail must be bought in advance online, and Bob's Corn still labels its posted rates as provisional, so treat those figures as reference prices.

Here's What I Suggest

If you only do one thing, make it Saturday at Bellevue College. Japan Week opens at 10 a.m., the Jinnouchi talk is at 12:30 p.m., and the parade crosses campus at 3 p.m. From there it is fifteen minutes to downtown Bellevue for Lady A at Meydenbauer at 7:30 p.m., and the show is done by 9. If you are on the north end, start Saturday at the Redmond Saturday Market at 9 a.m., swing through the Kirkland Costume Swap at City Hall before noon, then head up to Woodinville for Taste the Cellar at Darby (1 to 4 p.m.) or the Schoolhouse Oktoberfest from 2 p.m. Finish at Juanita Beach Park, where the lot opens at 6 p.m. for the outdoor movie. If you are hosting guests from out of town, the two Seattle tickets worth planning around are the Huskies against Iowa on Friday night and the Seahawks against the 49ers on Sunday afternoon. Both stadiums are easier by light rail than by car; the Sunday game in particular will fill SoDo by 11 a.m. And if you are thinking about a move this fall, open houses on the Eastside run Saturday and Sunday afternoons, which fits neatly around a morning at the market or a free set in Lincoln Square. Call Tony Meier & Team at 425-466-1000 or visit EastsideHomes.com and we will put together a Saturday route that pairs the homes you want to see with the events near them.
