Issaquah Zombie Walk: the Saturday to build around

Makeovers at Wicked Beauty Bar on East Sunset Way run 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. ($15 before 3 p.m., $20 after), dance practice is 3 to 4:30 p.m., the crawl up Front Street starts at 4:30 p.m., and the group Thriller and Time Warp dance on the City Hall steps closes things out from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Expect carnival games, a photo contest for best zombie (dogs included), and themed menus at the Front Street restaurants. Front Street will be crowded from mid afternoon, so park once along Sunset Way or in the lots near the Issaquah Depot and walk.

Día de los Muertos on the Eastside: two celebrations Saturday

The Eastside Día de los Muertos Celebration at Crossroads Community Center (16000 NE 10th Street, Bellevue) runs noon to 4 p.m. with live performances, hands on activities, community ofrendas, and food vendors; it is community led, and the city lists it without a posted admission, so call 425-452-6800 if you want to confirm. Kirkland's celebration at Peter Kirk Community Center runs 2 to 4 p.m., free, with traditional activities, food, and music sponsored by Cafecito Mexican Bakery. Parking at Peter Kirk is limited; the city points to the municipal garage under the Kirkland Library a block away. If you want both, do Crossroads first, then head up to Kirkland for the second half.

Remlinger Farms and the Halloween Train: the last big pumpkin weekend

Remlinger Farms in Carnation is open all three days, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a single wristband ($33.95 online, $34.95 at the gate) covering the rides, the hay ride, the pumpkin field, and the corn maze. Parking is free and Saturdays can sell out, so buy online. The Halloween Train runs Saturday and Sunday from the Snoqualmie Depot (11 a.m., then every two hours) and the North Bend Depot (10:30 a.m., then every two hours), about two hours round trip with a 30 minute stop at the Railway History Campus for cider press demonstrations, crafts, and live music. Adults are $32, seniors $28, ages 2 to 12 $16. The weekend after this one is October 31st and November 1st, the final run of the season.

The Seahawks are home Sunday night against Kansas City, the Kraken are home Saturday, and the Huskies, Sounders, and Silvertips are all off or away. Climate Pledge Arena, McCaw Hall, and the Exhibition Hall are all busy on the Seattle Center campus Saturday and Sunday, so plan on the Monorail or Link rather than the garages.

Here's What I Suggest

Saturday route: Start at the Redmond Saturday Market on Willows Road at 9 a.m. for coffee and produce, then drive east to Snoqualmie for the 11 a.m. Halloween Train (about 25 minutes from Redmond, buy tickets ahead). You are back in Snoqualmie by 1 p.m. and in Issaquah by 1:45 p.m., in time for a zombie makeover and the 3 p.m. dance practice before the Front Street crawl at 4:30 p.m. If the train is sold out, swap in the Crossroads Bellevue Fall Festival at 1 p.m. and the Kirkland Día de los Muertos celebration at 2 p.m., then finish in Issaquah for the 5 p.m. Thriller dance. Seattle plan: Friday is the night to be downtown. The Día de Muertos celebration at Pike Place Market is free from noon to 9 p.m., with the Catrina parade along Lenora Street and First Avenue at 6:30 p.m. and Revolver on the main stage at 8 p.m. The Moore Theatre's 7:30 p.m. Bailadores de Bronce performance is three blocks away if you want a seat afterward. Sunday, leave the Seahawks and the Chiefs to the stadium crowd unless you have tickets; SoDo will be jammed from mid afternoon for the 5:20 p.m. kickoff, so an Eastside evening is the easier choice. Open house tie in: If you are already out on Saturday, the stretch between Issaquah and Redmond passes through Sammamish and the Plateau, and Sunday morning in Redmond before Captain Jack's Treasure Run is a quiet window to drive the neighborhoods you are curious about. Tony Meier & Team can walk you through what is on the market in those neighborhoods and what a specific home should sell for right now. Call or text 425-466-1000 or visit EastsideHomes.com.
